About The Artist

Holly Distefano relocated to Southwest Missouri in the early 1980s from Northern California.  She graduated from SMSU in Springfield, Missouri with a BS in Art Education and became an Art instructor in the local public school system.

After teaching elementary and high school students for several years, Holly became a stay at home mom.  She began creating murals and new faux finishes within her own home and friends and family quickly became interested in her new found talent. A part-time business named M&M Murals quickly flourished into a full-time career later named Faux-Get About It Decorative Artistry.

Holly has obtained special certification and is licensed and insured.  As a graduate of Faux-Filled Dreams School of Decorative Artistry and Barth’s Faux Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada, Holly has had the privilege of being trained by some of the best in the business.  Her teachers include artisans from across the country, some of whom have painted several hotels and casinos on the Vegas strip, including the Bellagio, Caesar’s Palace, the Venetian, and the Wynn.

Holly has continued to build upon her creativity and update her knowledge of the latest techniques and professional products used in today’s decorative painting.  Holly’s business continues to grow due to an abundance of happy clients who graciously spread the word about their satisfaction with her work and professionalism.

Holly currently lives with her husband and three children in Kearney, Missouri.
